Notes: Pale yellow colour with greenish glints. A very complex nose with hints of fresh grass over a mineral base which gives the wine personality, & abundant fresh fruit such as citrus fruits, pineapple or melon. It leaves a fresh, aromatic taste in the mouth & has a clean, long finish.

The originally French variety Sauvignon Blanc, with which Marqués de Riscal makes this varietal white wine originally comes from the Loire Valley region. It was first introduced in Rueda by Marqués de Riscal in 1974 & today the winery has 70 hectares from estate owned vineyard with an average age of over 25 years.

 

Producer Info: The origins of the house go back to 1858, when the Marques de Riscal, who was resident in Bordeaux, was asked to hire a French winemaker to help the locals improve their winemaking techniques. Today the company owns nearly 600 hectares of vines, across La Rioja, Rueda & Castilla y Leon regions. From the 2018 vintage onward all of Marques de Riscal’s own vineyards have been certified organic.
