Notes: A delicious wine from this excellent boutique South-Australian producer. An amazing lifted bouquet of blackberries is complemented by a touch of mocha. Rich & smooth on the palate it offers a lovely soft finish with polished tannins. Matured for 15 months in French & American Oak. Recommended!

Producer Info: Lake Breeze is located in Langhorne Creek, South Australia & winemaker Greg Follett is part of the 4th generation of Folletts to work on the family property, which has been in the grape growing business here for 120 years. Only in the past 25 years have they been making their own wine, & they have rapidly built an enviable reputation for consistently producing outstanding, quality driven wines. Greg uses exclusively old vine fruit (& only the best 30 per cent of that) resulting in wines that are concentrated & rich. He takes a ‘hands on’ approach, responsible for all facets of the business, from fruit selection through to sales & marketing. Greg was brought up on the farm but left to study winemaking before heading to make wine in both California & France. He returned to his roots in 1987 & the rest they say ‘is history’ with Lake Breeze now being one of the most awarded boutique wineries in the whole of Australia.

The estate is situated on the banks of Lake Alexandrina where the vineyard benefits from the ‘lake breeze’ & is where the name for the winery comes from. Greg was brought up on the farm but left to study winemaking before heading to make wine in both California & France. He returned to his roots & in 1987 started making wine exclusively from the best 30 per cent of his old vine fruit.
