Producer Info: Established in 1967 by Maurice Grignon, the family winemaking & trading company originally specialised in the production & sale of wine-making materials. Then in 1992, the company was sold & became an Association of Cooperatives & started producing wines from Languedoc-Roussillon. In 1996, the company made significant investments into modern equipment, improved storage & now specialises in the production of high quality wines. The name Foncalieu is made up of letters of villages in the region of l`Aude – Fonties de Aude, Capendu – ALzonne – Montolieu.
The Languedoc is a vast region stretching across much of the south & Mediterranean & is France`s single largest vineyard entity for its Vins de Pays wines. Within the Languedoc lie several distinctly identified Vins de Pays (including the l`Aude, Gard & Hérault) & many generic appellations that maintain traditional local blends & wine styles such as Minervois, Corbières, Pic Saint Loup & Fitou.
