Producer Notes: Finca Bacara is located in the D.O.P. Jumilla which is located in the southeast of Spain & is characterised by its huge plains area & valleys. The climate of the region is sunny & arid, with very little annual rainfall. Soils in the area are very chalky, & generally have a great water capacity & a medium permeability, allowing the vineyards, which are situated at 2900 feet above sea level, to survive in prolonged drought conditions.
Finca Baraca follows a philosophy that wines are inextricably linked to the land, & are therefore committed to developing them with minimal impact on the environment. The vineyards are certified organic & are situated at 900 metres elevation. Winemaker Luis Javier Pérez has crafted an original series of wines based on the philosophy that ‘Time Waits For No-One’ encouraging us to live every moment – time cannot be recovered. The idiosyncratically packaged wines are fruit-driven, highly original & like time, they are to be enjoyed & cherished.
