Notes: The regional appellations alone represent more than half of the production of the wines of Burgundy. The grapes picked from the whole growing area offer a great diversity of flavour & quality. The A.O.C. wines from Bouchard Père & Fils are made from rigorously selected grapes & we feel deserve a special mention, like this Bourgogne La Vignée Pinot Noir which is a harmonious blend of fruit & “terroir”. Elegant with delicate fruit flavours this is a pleasantly balanced wine & an excellent introduction to the wines of Burgundy, & indeed the excellent wines of Bouchard Pere & Fils. Enjoy the Bourgogne La Vignee young for its freshness, but can likewise be aged for 3-4 years to develop more mature pinot noir notes. An excellent match with all types of poultry, game birds, medium-strength cheeses & roast dinners.
Producer Info: Founded in 1731 in Beaune by Michel Bouchard, Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy & one of the largest vineyard owners in the Cote D’or. The first vineyards were purchased in Volnay “Les Caillerets” in 1775, & so began a long history of gathering fine ‘terroirs’. Firstly in the Côte de Beaune, which is still home to the majority of Bouchard Père & Fils holdings, & then in the Côte de Nuits. Bouchard Père & Fils is an example of unique Burgundy heritage, offering great diversity & a raft of prestigious appellations: Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, Beaune Grèves Vignes de l’Enfant Jésus, Bonnes-Mares & Meursault Perrière – names that resonate with history, inspiring respect & encouraging the pursuit of excellence, with 4 monopolies & exclusivities among them. These remarkable parcels are meticulously tended by the teams who are responsible for the maintenance of the estate’s vines.
