Bouchard Pere & Fils Beaune du Chateau Premier Cru

Bouchard Pere & Fils Beaune du Chateau Premier Cru

Wine: Beaune du Chateau Premier cru

Producer: Bouchard Pere & Fils

Country: France

Region: Burgundy / Côte de Beaune

Vintage: 2017

Style: White

Blend: Chardonnay 100%

ABV: 13.5%

Size: 75cl

Notes: Pale gold colour with green shades & a nose of white fleshed fruit, candied citrus aromas with a hint of brioche & ginger bread. The palate has a richness, subtle oak & notes of dried fruit. A pleasantly rich wine with excellent depth & a wine which is excellent value when compared to other Premier Cru Burgundies.

Bouchard Père & Fils has been producing the Beaune du Chateau cuvée, an exclusivity of the House, since 1907. This wine is a blend of several Premier Cru vineyards chosen for their complementary qualities: Aigrots, Tuvilains, Sizies & Sur les Grèves. The grapes from each “climat” are vinified separately before blending, in order to preserve the character of each “terrroir”.

Producer Info: Founded in 1731 in Beaune by Michel Bouchard, Bouchard Père & Fils is one of the oldest wine estates in Burgundy & one of the largest vineyard owners in the Cote D’or. The first vineyards were purchased in Volnay “Les Caillerets” in 1775, & so began a long history of gathering fine ‘terroirs’. Firstly in the Côte de Beaune, which is still home to the majority of Bouchard Père & Fils holdings, & then in the Côte de Nuits. Bouchard Père & Fils is an example of unique Burgundy heritage, offering great diversity & a raft of prestigious appellations: Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne, Beaune Grèves Vignes de l’Enfant Jésus, Bonnes-Mares & Meursault Perrière – names that resonate with history, inspiring respect & encouraging the pursuit of excellence, with 4 monopolies & exclusivities among them. These remarkable parcels are meticulously tended by the teams who are responsible for the maintenance of the estate’s vines.
